Green Goddesses

The Elusive Find February 4th, 2010

Maybe it’s because they’re Mardi Gras green. And French. Or maybe it’s because they once held a whole lot of wine. Whatever, it’s carnival season, all of the above are on our minds, and we love these beautifully-shaped, 19th century wine bottles from South of Market. Hand blown in the South of France, they have an unusually striking hue and would make perfect decorations for a Mardi Gras soiree. (Perhaps resting on a mound of just-caught beads?) Any other time, they’d look great pretty much anywhere in the house—and perfect presiding over a fabulous wine cellar.
